My best friend and I fit into the molds of two of those characters (I'd say Miranda and Charlotte with a twist of Carrie) but I can't think of anyone else that can fit into a 4 person formula. It is fiction. All actreses and writers have emphasized this and the fact that these characters (especially Miranda, Samantha, and Charlotte) are very much so an exaggeration of a type of woman. I'm a student at NYU and I could think of a few girls who go to bars to meet guys. But like you mentioned in the entry, its very rare that you strike up conversation with a stranger at a bookstore or any other location.
